Gold Conservation Award for Bovisand Lodge Estate
Bovisand Lodge Estate is very proud to be included on the list of David Bellamy’s ‘Paradise Parks’ and be appointed with a gold award demonstrating the highest level of commitment to preserving and enhancing the natural world. Professor Bellamy describes these ‘Paradise Parks’ as wildlife wonderlands and the chance of an amazing holiday experience’
At Bovisand Lodge, it’s not just the guests that have an amazing time; the environment is flourishing and has become a haven for birds, animals and plant life. Bovisand is passionate about protecting the environment and encourages all its guests to explore the grounds and nearby countryside to experience the beautiful Devon countryside and natural habitats.
What makes Bovisand a ‘David Bellamy’ award winning park?
David Bellamy Conservation Awards are made each year to parks which can demonstrate policies showing active concern for the environment. As part of the assessment process, virtually every aspect of park management is assessed from the protection of plant and animal habitats to the conservation of energy and recycling. There are three levels of excellence and Bovisand has achieved the highest level ‘Gold Award’ demonstrating their commitment to protecting the environment.
Bovisand has also achieved a Silver Green Tourism Business Scheme (GTBS) Award which is the national sustainable tourism certification scheme for the UK and is validated by Visit Britain, through the International Centre for Responsible Tourism (ICRT).
Candice Hart from Bovisand says ‘We are proud to have won both the David Bellamy Gold Award and Silver GTBS Award. The environment makes Bovisand such a unique place and our guests really appreciate this special place in Devon. This year we’re in the process of adding solar panels to heat the swimming pool complex, making it warmer for our guests and also cutting down on our carbon footprint – a winning formula towards sustainability’.
VisitBritain Rose Award for Bovisand
Bovisand Lodge Estate is very proud of its Rose Award which is awarded at the discretion of VisitBritain and can only be attained if the business achieves either a four or five star rating.
The Rose Award highlights those quality holiday parks which provide a large proportion of first class caravan holiday home accommodation for hire. The assessment is yearly to assure the highest standards are achieved.
It’s a privilege to be annually awarded one of these coveted accolades and once again shows how Bovisand will go that extra mile to ensure that all their guests know that they have selected a top quality, quiet holiday park in which to spend their well earned holiday time.
